Heil Engineered Systems was an early innovator in the use of solid waste shredding equipment, and now provides complete systems for waste handling, including trommels, conveyors, magnetic separators, eddy current separators, and other ancillary equipment.  In operations where complex combinations of equipment must operate smoothly and productively, there literally is no substitute for the experience Heil offers.

Heil Engineered Systems has provided and installed solid waste processing equipment and systems since 1966.  Our equipment is designed for heavy duty use in facilities which have useful lives of 15-25 years.  We are particularly proud of our startup, testing, and training capabilities which allow each facility to reach commercial operations fast and efficiently.  Our managers, design engineers, and draftsmen regularly participate in the checkout and startup of most system projects.  This latest hands-on experience results in products containing the design improvements for our products and additional understanding of our customers' needs and desires.

We provide equipment or systems of equipment to accomplish the following:

• Production of various grades of RDF from MSW to suit boiler conditions.
  
• RDF delivery/distribution systems to boilers.
  
• Systems of equipment for boiler ash removal and processing including automated ferrous and non-ferrous removal.
  
• Recovery of recyclable materials from MSW (corrugated, paper, ferrous, aluminum beverage cans, PET, and HDPE).
  
• Separation of co-mingled recyclables.
  
• Preparation of MSW, sludge, or yard waste for composting including final sizing and removal of contaminants.
  

We offer single source responsibility which includes design, manufacturing, installation, startup, testing, and training of the owner's personnel to operate and maintain each system.  Guarantees are provided for completion time, throughput, and separation/recovery efficiencies for various materials.
